About Detian Waterfall

About Detian Waterfall

Detian Waterfall is located on the border of China and Vietnam in Daxin County, Guangxi. It is widely considered Asia’s largest transnational waterfall, measuring 200 m (656 ft) across and 30 m (98 ft) high.
The thundering waters of Detian crash into a beautiful green pool. The entire area is surrounded by lush tropical forests and remarkable landscape features. The falls are set against an undulating backdrop of forested Karst hills, which form a truly breathtaking vista.

Activities

A footpath leads right up to the waterfalls - close enough to feel the spray, which is a refreshing change from the humidity. Visitors can also take the steps up to an observation point which offers unparalleled panoramic views of the falls and beyond. For magnificent close-up shots of the falls in action, rafts can be hired at the base, which will take you a few metres closer.

Compared to many of the crowded tourist attractions in China, Detian Waterfall is one of the most tranquil. It is said that climbing the steps alongside the falls is an extremely calming experience due to the presence of negative ions in the air. While the surrounding forests, gorges and limestone terraces make Detian a very peaceful getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life.
