About Ben Vorlich

About Ben Vorlich (Loch Earn)

At an elevation of 985 m (3,232 ft) and with a prominence of around 830 m (2,723 ft), Ben Vorlich is a Munro located in the southern part of Scotland’s Highlands. It stands with its neighbouring peak, Stuc a’Chroin, with Loch Lubnaig to its west, and Loch Earn to the east.

A popular route to ascend this peak begins at Ardvorlich to the north, where a path leads through Glen Vorlich and then up to the mountain’s northern ridge, a distance of around 4 km (2.5 mi) from Ardvorlich. Walkers with energy left then continue onto Stuc a’Chroin, which is a somewhat more challenging walk.

Ben Vorlich’s location near the Highland boundary not only makes it popular with walkers, but also offers terrific views from the summit down into the Lowlands below.
