About Beinn Alligin

Beinn Alligin lies in Torridon, the one of the most beautiful areas in Scotland, and stands at an altitude of 986 metres (3,235 feet), its highest point being Sgurr Mhor. It has a prominence of around 601 m (1,971 ft) and is classified as both a Munro and a Marilyn. There are two other listed summits, Tom na Gruagaich (922 m / 3,025 ft, a Munro and a Marilyn, to the south of Sgurr Mhor) and Na Rathanan (866 m / 2,841 ft). One of its significant features is Eag Dubh, a deep gash in the hillside below the summit.

It is repute to be the easiest of the three notorious Torridon ridge traverses, the other two being Liatach and Beinn Eighe, but it still gives some airy climbing and scrambling, particularly treacherous in winter.
