Although seahorses are too small to be taken for a ride, they are certainly cute. The seahorse is a marine fish and can be found in shallow tropical and temperate waters almost anywhere in the world. There are 54 recognized species, and some can be found even in Thames Estuary. Despite their size and small habitat area (around 1 m2), they can eat as much as 3,000 brine shrimps per day. Due to the absence of a stomach, the digestion is rather fast, and they have to eat almost constantly.

There are some theories stating that seahorses mate for life, but this is still debated. Anyway, they seem to be persuasive; a mating dance can last up to eight hours, and the eggs are carried by the male. That truly makes them one of the unique animal species.
